The HIRS Collective

Weekend Warrior - August 30 - September 1

Hopefully you have Monday off to recover from this week’s Weekend Warrior pick. SRA Records will be hosting its 10th Anniversary Bash this Sunday at PhilaMOCA. The local indie label is never shy about bringing us some of the heaviest, hardest-hitting acts to come out of Philly. The celebration’s stacked lineup will consist of SRA family & friends – Chronic Anxiety, Psychic Teens, The HIRS Collective, Soul Glo, Solarized, Exmaid, FOD, and Gene London Calling. Get there early for the matinee hours and beyond! And if you happen to be one of the unfortunate ones who don’t have Labor Day off, then just quit already because they obviously don’t appreciate you. – Alexis V.

New The HIRS Collective/Jenna and the Pups Split LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Get Better Records recently issued a split LP, featuring The HIRS Collective and Jenna and the Pups. The HIRS Collective continues to hit with an immediate, raw, emotive surge. In contrast to the unfiltered hardcore, the downhill, melodic pop-punk of Jenna and the Pups rides dual-guitar lines in crisp, catchy pockets. Both of Jenna Pup's projects cut to the chase with succinct, honest messages.

New HIRS Collective LP Available for Streaming

Ahead of its April 20th release via Get Better Records /SRA, Friends. Lovers. Favorites, the new album from The HIRS Collective, is available for streaming at NPR's First Listen. The album comes at you in raw-ripping-roaring charges. That unrelenting blitz of continuous, guttural exposure hits the senses in an earth-quaking, real-time immediacy that shakes you to your core. Enlisting the aid of an array of friends/collaborators like Laura Jean Grace, Shirley Manson, Marissa Paternoster, Alice Bag, and Moor Mother just to name a few, the collection of recordings is an empowering celebration of the LGBTQ community.

New Track: "Outnumbered" - The HIRS Collective

Friends. Lovers. Favorites., the first official full-length album from The HIRS Collective, is scheduled for release on April 20 via Get Better Records/SRA Records. An eye-popping array of guests that includes Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace, Garbage's Shirley Manson, and Screaming Females' Marissa Paternoster just to name a few can be found on the forthcoming record. The LP’s closer, “Outnumbered,” issues a warning message aimed at those whom infringe on the rights of trans-women. Along with Thou, HIRS will be supporting Screaming Females at Union Transfer on Thursday, April 5, which is presented by WKDU.

New Track: "LEAVE ME ALONE / LET ME LIVE / ALL BY MYSELF / REVENGE" - The HIRS Collective

How To Stop Street Harassment, the forthcoming album from The HIRS Collective, is scheduled for release on November 20 via Get Better Records. The EP is sharply summarized as “Ten songs about wanting to be left alone while minding our business being in public.” The four song segment of "LEAVE ME ALONE / LET ME LIVE / ALL BY MYSELF / REVENGE" pulverizes and pummels with an unadulterated release of emotion. Preorders of the release (limited to 100) includes the flexi 7" with a silk screened b-side, a short comic and other art by JB Brager, a self-defense kitty keychain, and a lyrics insert.
