The End of America

New Track: "Break Away" - The End of America

“Break Away” is the latest single from The End of America (a fitting name for how things feel lately). Swirling acoustic guitar and keys form a path for lush, vocal harmonies. Hanging in the balance, the fantasy of escape unfolds. On Friday, August 23, you can catch the Philly trio as part of the 25th Anniversary celebration of Jeff Buckley’s Grace at World Cafe Live.

The End of America Album Release Show at JB's Sept. 8

Philadelphia-based The End of America are celebrating the release of their self-titled album tonight at Johnny Brenda's. The group's tight harmonies carry strong lyrics that are cradled within dark, modern Americana and rock songs that are highly memorable. The record aches with hope for ourselves and our world, and is a personal voyage for the artist as much as it is for the listener. It's a big, polished sound from the local trio. Joining them for support this evening is Pete Hill, sharing his sometimes funky, sometimes soulful, sometimes quirky, and always fun brand of sonics. Johnny Brenda's, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 9pm, $10, 21+ - Keith Kelley

NYC/Philly folk trio The End of America headlines Pianos tonight (11.12)

Folk-rock trio The End of America may have been playing music together since 2008, but only gained the attention of the public recently, after opening for Beck in LA back in February. The band’s clever mandolin-infused, tri-vocal harmonies and jam interludes keep them safe from Mumford & Sons comparisons, referencing instead Ryan Adams and Crosby, Stills & Nash. With two members from Queens and one from Philly, TEOA are set to headline Pianos tonight (November 12) with Kayleigh Goldsworthy and Steve Brodsky.
