Led by confident and charismatic Brooklyn chanteuse Lily Cato, Parlour Tricks (previously known as Lily & the Parlour Tricks) play a sophisticated brand of indie pop centered around Lily’s magnetic presence and sultry vocals, and enriched by tasteful atmospheric arrangements. After years spent striving in the NYC underground (our earliest coverage dates back to 2010), the band recently signed with Bar None, which will release their upcoming album “Broken Hearts/Bones.” We asked them a few questions about their creative and recording process, read the interview on our sister blog for creative musical minds on Delicious Audio.

Fresh from playing multiple showcases at both the CBGB and CMJ festivals in October, the newly dubbed PARLOUR TRICKS (formerly Lily and the) have recently released new material. Their latest single "Lovesongs" (streaming) reiterates an already established reputation for appealing harmonies and compelling songwriting. Produced by Emery Dobyns with mixing by Michael Ilbert and mastered by Joe LaPorta at Sterling Sound, the track emphasizes melody and vocal purity over any kind of artificial digital enhancements. Meanwhile, their live show presents a visual and auditory experience that comes together with a seamless professionalism. New York’s answer to doo-wop, Lily and the Parlour Tricks raise their seductive shuffle to a higher bar with their new video for ‘The Poison Song.’ Lily Claire shimmies around in a changing cast of black-on-white-on-black backdrops that cast the barroom brawl of the single in its most sensuous light. Taken from their latest self-titled EP, ‘The Poison Song’ will get you on your feet and keep you there until Lily says otherwise.
