We have one of our best parties - like - EVER coming up tonight (09.13) at  The Silent Barn's stunning new Bushwick location, to celebrate The Deli NYC's issue 35 and also Celestial Shore's release of their album '10x' - as you may have noticed, the band is on the cover of the mag!

But that's not it, because three other truly fantastic NYC artists will be performing as well: TEEN, Empress Of and Bueno!

Fresh from honing her craft as a member of Here We Go Magic, creative force Teeny Lieberson embarks on a more personal project with all female group TEEN. After releasing their debut full length in 2012, in March the band unveiled a new single titled "Carolina" from the upcoming EP by the same name, slated for a late May release on Carpark Records. The track showcases an impressive artistic growth, striking a very personal balance between eastern sounding melodies, detuned synth lines and guitar parts that flirt with the golden days of prog rock (think early King Krimson). We predict a good year for TEEN, which is currently on a European tour. - Dave Cromwell recently interviewed the band for The Deli here.

The folks over at Stereogum have just published the list of their 40 favorite new bands, so here's a little round up of the local talent to be found on said list, led on the NYC front - no surprise there - by Harlem's loudmouth Azaelia Banks. But what NEXT?

Second in line (the list is organize alphabetically) comes new Brooklyn four-piece DIIV (formerly Dive) who after three singles and a full-length has found itself a decent crowd and a place under the spotlight with its dream pop delights, followed by Ice Choir's punchy synthpop straight from an 80s flashback. After a cast of four up-and-coming rappers (who'll be covered shortly by brokeMc) we find two of the city's hardworking young rock&roll trios Nude Beach and Sleepies (pictured) – both of which released new albums this year and are gradually attracting their well deserved lot of attention. Finally we get to TEEN, new indie pop project by ex-Here We Go Magic keyboard player Kristina Lieberson, which only emerged on the radar about a month ago ago with a debut album 'In Limbo' and clotures the list - that's what you get when you pick a band name starting with "T". Ten out of 40, with a list that spreads over to Europe? Not bad at all New York - check these bands out on the playlist below! 

We highlighted Brooklyn girl quartet TEEN (good luck Googling it! Facebook profile is here) few times since its inception, and they are now getting a good amount of buzz thanks to new material and an upcoming album entitled "In Limbo" which is scheduled to be released in September. The band also just announced a tour with delicious indie pop fellow Brooklynites Hospitality in October, and released this video of the single "Electric." See them live at their release parties at Le Baron in Manhattan (08.29) and Glasslands in Brooklyn (09.05).

Born in 2011 when Here We Go Magic's keyboardist Teeny Lieberson left the band to pursue her own project, TEEN plays some kind of tribal trip-pop (trib-pop?) which is particularly fitting for the African weather we are experiencing. Maybe that's why they got booked two days in a row in July (LPR on the 20th and Union Pool on the 21). Joined by sisters Lizzie and Katherine, and members Maia and Jane, this semi-family will release their debut album "In Limbo" on Carpark Records in August. In it, you'll find catchy chants floating on a hazy sound alternately backed by synths and organs, and songs that fizz and drone through light arrangements in part reminiscent of Here We Go Magic's impressionistic sound. - Kristina Tortoriello.
