Thin Lips
New Thin Lips LP Available for Streaming

Ahead of its July 27th release via Lame-O Records, Chosen Family, the new album from Thin Lips, is now available for streaming HERE. Introspective and reflective honesty resounds in Chrissy Tashjian’s words and vocals. Forging that personal connection and then fortifying it with memorable hooks and super-charged riffs, the album is another thoughtful chapter that will memorably sit with listeners. Thin Lips are supporting Japandroids this evening at Boot & Saddle, the opening night of the Canadian outfit's sold-out run, before heading out on tour for the rest of the summer with Hop Along and Slaughter Beach, Dog.
New Track: "Gaslight Anthem (The Song Not The Band)" - Thin Lips

Thin Lips have another endearing new single to share with us from their forthcoming full-length album Chosen Family. The beloved, former Dangerous Ponies members just dropped the humorously titled, "Gaslight Anthem (The Song Not The Band)," which also features backing vocals from local music pals Frances Quinlan (Hop Along), Brendan Lukens (Modern Baseball), and Zoe Reynolds (Kississippi). The LP is due out on July 27 via Philly's own Lame-O Records. Chrissy Tashjian, Mikey Tashjian, and Kyle Pulley are currently on tour with Hop Along, and will be back home for a sold-out show with Japandroid on Tuesday, July 24 at Boot & Saddle. If you missed out on tix for that evening, don't sleep on next month's performance with Slaughter Beach, Dog on Saturday, August 25 at PhilaMOCA. (Photo by Scott Troyan)
New Track: "A Song For Those Who Miss You All The Time" - Thin Lips

Thin Lips just announced that their new full-length album, Chosen Family, is scheduled for release on July 27 via Lame-O Records. Its first single, “A Song For Those Who Miss You All The Time,” channels the grief from the death of Chrissy and Mikey Tashijan’s younger brother. A conversational recollection is encountered via a dream. Addressing numerous, lingering, unanswered questions, the pain of personal loss remains. There’s a comfort in the smoothness of the emotive vocals and the crisp guitar licks. As we move forward, we still carry the memory of those we love with us. Before heading out on tour with good pals Hop Along, Thin Lips are slated to open for Japandroids on Tuesday, July 24 at Boot & Saddle.
Weekend Warrior, September 15 - 17

This Saturday, the historic Electric Factory will be hosting Project Pabst Citywide Fest, where you’ll be treated to an array notable and rising indie recording artists. The fiercely open, riff-tastic tunes of Thin Lips will be catching hold of early birds with momentous melodies. Later in the day, bridging the gap between adolescent and adulthood into anthems of universal release, The Menzingers take the stage to the delight of their growing loyal fan base. Sandwiched in between, you’ll also find the fragile, cathartic, biting melodies of Nothing and the sincere, gritty, pop sensibilities of Speedy Ortiz, who has recently welcomed Laser Background’s Andy Moholt into the fold. The elegantly exposed vulnerability of Big Thief, Atlanta garage-rock gals The Coathangers, and “Mr. F*ck, That’s Delicious” Action Bronson round out this daylong hang. – Michael Colavita
