New Music Video: "Annihilator" - Night Sins

Portrait in Silver is the forthcoming album from Night Sins, the solo project of Nothing's Kyle Kimball. The release is set to arrive on September 6 via Funeral Party. A video for its lead single, “Annihilator,” is out now. The footage, which was directed by Cassandra Nguyen, captures a couple of goths getting down and possibly finding love/lust in a synth-fueled, bondage-friendly club scenario. Images of the perfect day, enhanced by nicotine and a stroll through a graveyard, are intermittently shuffled, causing you to question the line between fantasy and reality. Night Sins will be holding its record release show on Wednesday, September 4 at Johnny Brenda’s.

Flash Trading debuts moody single "Similar Devils," plans EP release for year's end

Brooklyn’s Flash Trading is back with a tastefully concocted sonic haze of ambient pop that has a touch of grey to it: the easy-listening vibe of the group's latest single “Similar Devils” seemingly fits for both overcast mornings or foggy evenings, the music evokes a serene mood. “This track was inspired by the lazy monotony of seasonal affective disorder. The feeling of waking up in a drafty room for months on end, your curtains separating you and the world, wanting nothing more than to fall back asleep,” is what the band had to say about the composition. Despite having some elements of house music near the end of the track, “Similar Devils” cruises most of the song, letting its deep bass groove, atmospheric electric guitar phrases, and elegant synthesizer strains carry the listener to the comfortable corners of their mind. Flash Trading once again stimulates the brain, the way a good sophisti-pop band ought to do, letting the listener bask in their mood as they lounge. The band is preparing an EP for release later this year; in the meantime, we are premiering the new single for you below. - Rene Cobar

Welsh Avenue releases electro-pop single "Two-Door Coupe," plays record release show at Butterfly Bar 07.05

Seemingly fitting for a morning drive around Round Rock, TX or a slow Saturday-night cruise down Red River Street in Austin, Welsh Avenue's latest single "Two-Door Coupe" has a universal feel-good vibe. The electro-pop single's synthesized strains create a lush sonic atmosphere which nestles the groovy beat and enthusiastic vocals that give the song its vivid feel. "I wrote this song back when I drove a Mustang. I have since moved onto the SUV life, but I still enjoy open road adventures and the occasional putting the pedal to the metal; that's what this song is about," is what Welsh Avenue project-founder Mark DiLillo had to say about the track. With the single's rich amalgam of synth-pop and new wave, Welsh Avenue provides a sneak peek of the sonic kaleidoscope in store in its upcoming sophomore album New Ways. The record release show will be on July 5th at Butterfly Bar inside the VORTEX in Austin. Welsh Avenue is proving that electro-pop is as lively as ever, one sticky track at a time. We are premiering the Round Rock native's single below. - Rene Cobar

David Darrko "Heaven Tonight"

Romantic Pop artist David Darrko has released a new single called “Heaven Tonight”. This is Darrko’s third new single in the last four months, and perhaps his most cheesy track. However, when you hear him describe the process it at all begins to make sense.

"This past January in Chicago was torture, the bipolar weather made ME bipolar," Darrko explains. "I decorated my apartment even though it was negative 20 outside. I was snowed in and wrote "Heaven Tonight". I needed to create a fantasy for myself to keep from going insane. I couldn't go out and dance, so I danced at home alone. I also wanted a song that felt like being on ecstasy, without feeling like shit the following three days."
