New Music Video: "Wedding Singer" - Modern Baseball

Below is a new music video for Modern Baseball's track "Wedding Singer," which is the latest single from the group's forthcoming album Holy Ghost. In it, the lovable quartet is the house band inside the brain of the video's protagonist, who is having a shitty day until he hooks up with pink-wigged cutie driving a hearse. Things get a little Twilight Zone-y, but the romance eventually blossoms. Holy Ghost comes out on May 13 via Run For Cover Records, and the band will be doing a special in-store performance at Long in the Tooth on Thursday, May 12.

Lady Parts Go Deeper at KFN May 5

The trio known as Lady Parts hits the upstairs of Kung Fu Necktie this evening. The band dishes out melodic, cut-down-to-the-core rock, implementing smooth vocal harmony and combating that with moments of snarl. Lyrically-twisting, simple-on-the-surface images that entrench themselves with a deeper resonance, it's heartfelt, attitude-smeared rock that you’ll subconsciously replay throughout the day. The twang-infused, alt-country tunes of Betty Iron Thumbs and the jolting noise-punk of Kevin help to complete this billing, which also includes the debut performance of local three-piece Cool Eagle. Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 N. Front St., 8pm, $6, 21+ - Michael Colavita

Beauty School

Beauty School released a new single, "Pushover" b/w "Teenage Dominoes", this week. Both tracks are lo-fi, garage-pop gems centered around strong female vocals and harmonies.

New Music Video: "Arrest" - Curtis Cooper

Watch the new video for “Arrest,” found on Curtis Cooper's debut album Laughing in Line. The footage captivates with its haunting sense of entrapment. Dylan Pecora captures the face-warping, eye-popping intensity as Cooper conducts the songs movements while those basement walls seem to hold him in. He's also set to perform at Bourbon & Branch on Friday, May 13, as part of Queen of Jeans residency, which also includes Ceramic Animal’s record release.
