New Track: "Useful Information" - Purling Hiss

Interstellar Blue, the forthcoming EP from Purling Hiss, is set to arrive on July 9 via Drag City. Mike Polizze and friends recently shared its lead single, “Useful Information,” an even-keeled, psych-blues sojourn. The track takes you on a languid, muggy stroll in the summer sun, as a bit of guitar-fueled heat blares down upon you. Purling Hiss will be performing next in Philly on Thursday, July 11, with support from Writhing Squares and Long Hots.
Pussy Stench - Dirty New Video "Honey Wine"

Tea time folks…if you don’t want to get dirty then go put on the tea kettle while we talk about Pussy Stench. They are a filthy four piece grunge band showin’ off some heavy riffs. This half male/half female group just released a new video for their track “Honey Wine”. This is a heavy track full of angst. Their grunge attack is abrasive for the bulk of the song but breaks down into a doom inspired, melodic bridge that gives the tune a great dynamic. Pussy Stench will be hittin’ up Duffy’s Tavern in Toronto on June 19th with Specks and Los Senores. – Kris Gies
New Track: "Kite Balloons" - Honey Radar

Honey Radar recently dropped the lead single featured on its forthcoming album, Ruby Puff Of Dust, which is scheduled to arrive via What's Your Rupture?. Contrasting the immediate grit and fire of guitar with the composed chillness of the vocals, “Kite Balloons” takes us on a heady excursion. That fuzzy, foggy combination is just the right complement for when you're lost in the clouds. On Tuesday, June 28 at Boot & Saddle, you can catch Honey Radar on a rad lineup, presented by WKDU, that also includes Control Top & Lithics.
New Line Leader LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

Philly's Line Leader recently shared its new, full-length album, Houses of Water. One enters a multifaceted, mysterious, head-trippy, musical mission. An array of sonic textures creates a fluid, ever-evolving atmosphere - one that floats in a dreamy manner at one moment and then transitions into a more volatile, urgent heaviness in the next. That unpredictable, shape-shifting nature compels the listener to remain alert around each and every bend. (Photo by Kayla McCaney)
Weekend Warrior - June 7 - 9

Undeterred, raunchy riffs and snarly, sweaty vocals fuel the Narcos Family Band. A raw refinement converges as the runaway momentum of the instrumentation plays out like a bull rampaging through a China shop. The rhythmic push pummels everything that dares to enter its path. This Sunday night at Haus of Yarga, they’ll be joined by the agitation-releasing, quick-hitting garage-hardcore hybrid of Trash Knife. A pair of Midwestern punk outfits in Michigan’s Werewolf Jones and Wisconsin’s Fire Heads aid in amplifying the evening, which is also rounded into form by Ghoul Friends. – Michael Colavita
